Daydreaming...

I have a bad case of "daydreaming". Well, not really so much daydreaming as wanting to do something other than what I'm suppose to be doing during the day (namely working). I am attributing this to my school schedule and the fact that I need a vacation.

Teaching 3 nights a week has been both good and bad. I have enjoyed no early mornings, BUT definitely missed my nights at home. I feel like I can never get anything done, plus I don't get home until after 10 p.m. and then can't get to bed at a descent hour, thus I'm tired the next morning/day.

All that being said, I've got a different schedule for the Fall. I'm back on early morning classes, but much to my delight, I have both a 7 & 8 a.m. class, meaning that I only have to teach 1 night a week in addition to the Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning classes. As much as I hate waking up early, it's way easier on "my system".

But seeing as I am still on nights and thus "daydreaming," here are some of the things I'm daydreaming about...

I want a lemon fragrance for this spring/summer. There are several options, but these are the lead contenders...

or

I want new makeup for spring/summer too, but I'm not liking the spring colors...

I think that I want a very Bronzed look for summer and so far, Mac Cosmetics has the best colors.

I want new nail polish for this season. It's a little wild, but several lines have a great Jade that is calling my name...

I also think that these pillows from Pottery Barn would really brighten up the living room for spring/summer.
What are you daydreaming about this spring?

Swiss Oatmeal {Copy Cat Recipe}

I'm obsessed with Swiss Oatmeal.  I particularly love  Corner Bakery's Swiss Oatmeal.  If you are not familiar with Swiss Oatmeal, it is a cold oatmeal cereal with fruit and nuts.

I've had a similar recipe for years, but it was only similar.  It wasn't close enough for my liking.  So I finally set out into the land of Pinterest to find a recipe that was a good Copy Cat.  I found a few, combined them and came up with what I think is a very close Copy Cat Recipe of Corner Bakery's Swiss Oatmeal.

Here's what I do (note, this recipe is really just pictures, because I don't really have measurements for these things.  The photos aren't great, but it's easier if I show you what I do)...

Here's the Phase 1ingredients... Milk Honey Yogurt (I use a vanilla greek yogurt) Oats (old fashioned, not quick...you probably could do steel cut too) I've simplified this to where you only need a bowl and a spoon for Phase 1 because I use my yogurt cup as a meas…

It's all about the dress...

I mean I guess it's really all about getting married, but come on, you always anticipate the dress right?  Well holy moly folks!  Today a big secret was released to the press.  No, we still don't know which dress or tiara Kate will be wearing, but we heard for the first time that Princess Diana had a back-up dress!  Here are some of the pictures and sketches...

Real dress on Left~ Back-up on the Right Here are the sketches of the back-up dress

And you know what?  I like the back-up dress better than the one she wore!  I know, I know.  I'm going to get blasted for saying that, but I'll just confess it right now... My name is Kara and I've never thought Princess Diana's dress was all that and a bag of chips.  Nope.  Not my favorite Royal Wedding Dress by any stretch of the imagination.  What is my favorite?  Probably the one that Sarah Ferguson wore when she married Andrew...
It had beautiful beading and stitching throughout.  Also on the train it had an "A&quo…

Pumpkins, Gourds & Flowers, oh my!

Yesterday, I went to the Dallas Arboretum.  Lisa, Jennifer, and I went as my birthday outing.  We got a late start due to some court delays, so we stopped for lunch first.  I needed some make-up too, so we went to Neimans.  We ogled some purses, had lunch, I got some make-up and then we headed out to the arboretum (in the rain).

It was raining pretty good on the way over, but luckily, we only needed umbrellas for a few minutes.  Thankfully the sun never came out, because it was so humid, I'm pretty sure we would have melted.

First, we made our way toward the Pumpkin Village...

I love how they made garland out of the mini-pumpkins...

These rose bushes were just stunning!  The roses on each bush varied in color from a coral, to a blush, to a purple hue...
It was Fall at the arboretum, and pumpkins, gourds, and mums are a large part of the visit.  However, they also have a Chihuly art exhibition going on.  I took so many pictures, I HAVE to make that it's whole separate post.  …
