On Saturday night, when I didn't know how I was going to make it through the big project, my Meme brought over the inspiration that I needed. She brought a bag of ingredients and a recipe. It's a super easy recipe, so even the most inept cooks or bakers that I know should have no problem with it. But the best part is that it tastes like heaven.
Here's the deal:
Buy a package of frozen Rhode's Cinnamon rolls at the grocery store.
Take 1 cup of brown sugar and put in the bottom of a dish (I think we used an 7X11 size pyrex dish).
Then cut up 1/4 cup of butter and lay the butter pats on top of the sugar
Set your frozen rolls on the top of the butter (we only used 6 of the 12 in the pkg.)
Pour a carton of Whipping Cream on top of all that mess (we used 1/2 pint, but I think you could use a whole pint if you wanted)
Then it gets weird, so hang with me for a minute...
Take the dish of all that stuff that's taken you a grand total of 2 minutes to "mix up" and place it in a cold oven. Leave it. All night. For at least 8 hours. When you wake up in the morning, peek inside your oven...you'll see that they have gloriously risen overnight!
Turn the oven on to 350 degrees (with the rolls still inside the oven) and cook for about 18-20 minutes. Then pull them out of the oven and ice them with one of the packages of icing that came with the rolls.
They are wonderful, delicious, sinful, a billion calories, but beyond worth it...
Oh yeah...you should spoon up some of that buttery-sugary-creamy goodness onto the roll too. Don't walk, but run to the store and get the ingredients to make these this weekend! (Sorry we were dug right in before taking photos, so you didn't get to see the whole pretty bunch of them, just those we hadn't devoured yet!)
