It's October 13, and I've checked 3 items off of my October "To-Do" list! I've gone to Canton Trade Days, gone to The State Fair, and yesterday, I checked the arboretum off of my list. I love the Dallas Arboretum. In the spring, there are tons of tulips, and in the fall, it's tons of pumpkins.
Right as you enter, the walkway is lined with giant pumpkins.
Man, I wish I had just one of those big pumpkins for my yard!
Since Josh was out of school, we decided to take the kids to the Arboretum.
The Pumpkin Village is always fun.
They were handing out sheets with pictures of all the pumpkin and gourd varieties. I thought Josh would like looking for the different kinds, but I got two sheets so Harper wouldn't feel left out. Turns out, Harper was all about it! She was on a mission and you couldn't deter her!
See what I mean?
We got there as soon as they opened at 9:00 a.m. Primarily because it was going to be such a hot day, we wanted to get done before it hit 90 degrees. The good part of this plan was that it was also pretty vacant when we went through, but as we were leaving, it was packed.
This year, the Pumpkin Village is a "Texas" theme with Sheriff's Office, General Store, Post Office, etc.
The Texas Pumpkin display was Josh's favorite part.
We went to the Children's Adventure Garden too.
The tornado wind tunnel.
As always, the Arboretum is worth a trip. We just wished it had been cooler!
