3 years of wavering and still no decision

I've been wavering on whether or not a wanted an electronic reader for about 3 years now.  I almost requested a Kindle 3 Christmases ago.  I decided against it and boy have I been glad about that!  First of all, they've come a long way in the technology department since then, and they are also less than half of what they cost back then.

One of my big hold-ups regarding getting one is the lack of ability to borrow books (though I think that B&N's Nook offers that now on some level).  However, I have this week had the epiphany that I'm a book loaner, not really a book borrower.  I probably borrow less than 2% of the books I read every year.  So I'm holding myself back due to the fact that my friends like to read my books.  Now I love my friends, but I'm thinking this is some warped logic.

Oh well, I'm sure I'll stay on the fence on the matter and won't actually bite the bullet.  If ipads were cheaper, I'd probably go that route.  But since Apple thinks they are pretty cool and charges a ton for them, I think I'm leaning toward the Nook.  You want to know the primary reason that I'm leaning Nook rather than Kindle?  They have fabulous covers for the Nook.  Yep, that's my shallow reason.  They have Kate Spade and Lilly Pulitzer.  Nuf' said!

If you have one of these e-readers, weigh in on whether you love yours or not.

My mom has a Kindle (I think that's what it is) and she loves it. I'm an old-school book lover; there's just something about the weight of a book in my hands that makes me happy! I don't think I could switch over to a "tech book," but my mom sure loves her Kindle!

I just had this convo with my mom. We are thinking about getting a pair ourselves, but aren't convinced yet. Let me know what you decide!
I have a Kindle and I just love it. I bought mine back in April and I now wish that I had waited just a little longer. I have a feeling I might get the new one eventually, we will see. Mine holds its charge for such a long time and it is nice to always have it open to your page when you want to read.

I have to agree with Kelsey, I have always thought that I just need to have my words on paper, that I can feel in my hand. Plus I like to turn pages. (and is it safe to read a Kindle in the bathtub, because I like to do that too!) I do read a lot of blogs on a computer though...come to think of it, I was one of the last people I know to switch to digital cameras and I have to wonder what in the world I was thinking on that one!

So I can't wait for you to get one so I can hear your thoughts!

Swiss Oatmeal {Copy Cat Recipe}

I'm obsessed with Swiss Oatmeal.  I particularly love   Corner Bakery's Swiss Oatmeal.  If you are not familiar with Swiss Oatmeal, it is a cold oatmeal cereal with fruit and nuts. I've had a similar recipe for years, but it was only similar.  It wasn't close enough for my liking.  So I finally set out into the land of Pinterest to find a recipe that was a good Copy Cat.  I found a few, combined them and came up with what I think is a very close Copy Cat Recipe of Corner Bakery's Swiss Oatmeal. Here's what I do (note, this recipe is really just pictures, because I don't really have measurements for these things.  The photos aren't great, but it's easier if I show you what I do)... Here's the Phase 1 ingredients...   Milk Honey Yogurt (I use a vanilla greek yogurt) Oats (old fashioned, not quick...you probably could do steel cut too)    I've simplified this to where you only need a bowl and a spoon for Phase 1 becau...
