Legally Blonde's Proceedings

Back in the fall, I turned my hair-dresser, Cathy, onto Ryan Star.  It quickly benefited me because I got to listen to Ryan while getting my hair done, as he was now on her salon's playlist.  Then earlier this year, I got a call one night from Cathy wanting to know if she could give my number to Dr. Jennifer Buchanan, who was wanting my help on a charity concert she puts on each year in McKinney. Jennifer Buchanan called me, explained that she has a charity concert on Memorial Day weekend each year that raises money to build homes for wounded warriors.  She had heard Ryan playing on Cathy's playlist, and Cathy had suggested he might be great for the headliner of this year's concert.  She wanted to know if I had an "in" for getting him.  I told her not really.  I go to every concert when Ryan is in Dallas (and sometimes other parts of Texas), and while he recognizes me, he wouldn't know my name.  I did rustle up some email addresses for his ...

Last week was Spring Break from school, which really isn't nearly as fun when teaching is just a side gig and you have another full time job to do.  But this past weekend, I took a little trip out west to see friends and have a little fun. On Saturday morning, I flew to Midland.  This is Lola and me waiting for my mom for a puppy hand-off...   If you don't notice it, let me point out to you, that apparently I look very terroristic in the above pic.  I got sent through the body scanner at the airport and then patted down.  Sheesh!  I guess there are lots of blonde terrorists carrying Vera Bradley & Louis Vuitton, and wearing crocheted Tom's these days!   I got to Midland and my friend Suz and I shopped around a little bit, but we spent the better part of 5 hours planning where we are staying during an upcoming June vacation.   Sunday morning we got up and drove 2 hours to Lubbock.  We got to hit up some of our favorite spot...

I enjoyed the day off yesterday, how about y'all?  Sadly, I had a 7 a.m. class to teach this morning, so I felt like my holiday weekend came to a rude and abrupt ending!  I have to teach tonight at 7 too.  Tuesdays are my long day. I have something to celebrate today, though...Jennifer is back to work!  After a 3 month absence, I am no longer playing the role of 2 attorneys.  Woo-hoo! Here's what's been going on the past week or so around here... I got a new back fence.  It borders our Homeowners Association, so they paid for it.  That was great, but my house backs up to a very busy road.  After witnessing the immediate aftermath of a little white dog being hit by a Prius the previous week, I wasn't taking any chances so I shipped Lola off to Nocona for a couple of days. I thought about calling this post Musical Thursday, but instead, I decided on "I wanna go...", because there are lots of concerts that I find myself saying, "Oh, I wanna go!". Adele's North American tour has been rescheduled.  And she just so happens to be making her way to my area of the world on the day before my birthday!  I think I wanna go!  I LOVE Adele.  If you don't know Adele, check her out and buy her CD's.  Her voice is incredible.  I'm pretty sure I'd have goosebumps the entire concert. And yes, if you haven't figured it out, my ipod looks like a pchysophrenic person the music downloaded music.
