Well, I didn't blog the whole month of February.  I think that may be the first time, I've gone an entire month.  There are no real great excuses for my absence, but I certainly find myself wondering where the entire month went.  I can't believe it's already time for Spring Break! Here is what I was up to in February... I got a new mattress... I love the mattresses that The Melrose in Georgetown has on their beds.  I mentioned this to my uncle, and since he works for the company that owns that hotel, he has the ability to order me the same mattress (at cost!). Lola and I had a big Valentine's Day.  I was ridiculously spoiled by my friends & family! Lola was spoiled too... I took Lola on lots of walks when the weather permitted We had several bad weather days... a sleet day, an ice day, and a couple of snow days.  Lola and I both enjoyed curling up under our Vera Bradley throw blanket I feel the need to bake on bad weat...

I've really failed at the Valentine decorating this year.  Well, I'm not even sure if I failed because I made ZERO attempt to do anything.  I did manage to make & buy valentines to send out, so I guess that's what really counts. This year, I did Burt's Bees valentine treats for some friends... I thought they turned out really cute.  It's a pinterest idea (of course)!   I should have photoshopped my "message" into the card, but I didn't think about it until I had already had the cards printed. I found these cute stickers at Swoozies and thought they were perfect to seal the overstuffed envelopes... I also raided pinterest for ideas for Jennifer's little boy's valentines.  I found the download and print shopped them to include the "From: Joshua" because every time she makes him sign his name to things, it's like she has sentenced him to working in the coal mine.  She sent me this pic of the finished product after ...

I decided to do little gift packs of S'mores for my friends this year. I thought they turned out pretty cute     They were yummy too! (What?  I couldn't send them out without having a quality control taste test!)   The biggest problem was that I didn't contemplate that so many friends live out of town! Not exactly easy mailing like a card, so I didn't get to give as many as I had planned in my mind.   Lola got a squeaky pig for her Valentine's Day present. She always gets something super small for V-day because her birthday is in a couple of days. She also got a new bone and another toy from my parents this past weekend. Spoiled Puppy!   Hope y'all got some sweet treats for Valentine's Day!

I intended to put up Valentine's Day decorations on February 1st, but as you know, I had the plague.  I had hoped that Friday was rock bottom, but wouldn't you know that Saturday would roll around and prove that wasn't the case.  Ugh!  I'm still sick, but not as bad.  I'm no longer medicating myself with the thought of "oh well, it will either heal me or kill me!".  I believe that I'm on the road to recovery. I purchased several things of "fake ornaments" after Christmas.  You know, the kind that look like glass balls, but really are shatter proof.  I bought red, pink and purple with a Valentine's Day project in mind.  After picking up a new glue gun last week to replace the one that exploded, I got to work on a new wreath for the front door.  The last ornament wreath I made, I tried to string them on a wire.  I didn't love that, so I decided to go the foam wreath and glue route this time.  I tried to follow some how-to examples I saw on Pinterest.  They were helpful enough, but I definitely discovered some things that I would do different next time.  Here's the finished product...
