Ice Day {again}

Today is Day 2 of the ice storm.  I haven't really gotten cabin fever yet since I haven't ran out of tv or books to read.  I'm happy that Tuesday night is such a big tv night that it fills up my DVR.  I'm also reading two books...Pioneer Woman's new book "Black Heels to Tractor Wheels" and Ted Kennedy's Memoir "True Compass".  "True Compass" has been wonderful so far.  So much history.  Such an interesting insight into the Kennedy family.

Pretty much everything around was closed again today.  It didn't seem like the county was going to close.  In fact, I'm pretty sure the only reason they did was that they discovered no employees showed up this morning.  All of the judges held a stand-off with the commissioners and refused to come to work.  Pretty funny stuff because there is no love loss there to begin with.  I'm waiting to see what they will do tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure I'm not going to court.  I have one client that I've been trying to get on the phone to warn that I likely won't be coming.  I know I just sound lazy, but seriously, look at my driveway...
It's too shady to melt off like the rest of the street and it is very steep.  Ice and incline do not mix well.

I did just get a bit of good news though.  The college has cancelled all classes tomorrow.  That's a super thing for me because Thursday night is my back to back class night!  Woo-Hoo!  So this week both of my Tuesday/Thursday classes were cancelled as well as my Thursday night class.

Right now, I'm just wishing that I had stocked my pantry better.  I didn't think it would last this darn long and now we aren't suppose to get above freezing until Saturday, with another chance of snow on Friday!

I think I could spend days at a time in my house and never get cabin fever. I'm a homebody. Sorry about the food situation- always best to have lots of goodies when you're stuck inside.

Is that car in the picture up on the curb? Wondering if someone on your street tried to ice drive.

Finished The Help. It absorbed my entire "it's too cold out to do anything day". I'm sure my husband and children would have perfered that I do something productive. Great book...it's going to affect me for sometime.

Europe 2024 {Day 10 ~ Munich, Germany}

On December 22nd, I departed Salzburg train station at 8:00 and arrived in Munich at 9:40.  The station is under construction and a real mess!  I finally made my way out and found it was really raining.  I made my way to a taxi and took it to my hotel.  My hotel room wasn't ready but they kept my bags for me and I headed out.   I have been to Munich a couple of times and wanted to see a couple of things I haven't had a chance to do before.  I planned to to go to the Nazi Documentation Center first since it was raining, but when I looked it up on my phone to double check the hours, I learned they had just closed for renovations.  So rain or not, I was going to have to head out to Nymphemburg Palace.  I took the tram out and then walked to the palace. I don't know why, but I didn't take many pictures on the inside. I also bought a ticket to the Royal Stables Museum which houses lots of coaches. I really found all the sleighs to be a sight to see, bu...
