Read All About It...

There are several Book or Reading related things I'm itching to talk about...

(1) Sisterhood Everlasting~ by Ann Brashares is coming out June 14th.
You can bet I've already pre-ordered this baby on my Nook!  This is a continuation of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series.  This is the first actual Adult Novel (gosh that makes it sound dirty doesn't it?).  This is the first, non-teen novel? (yeah, that probably sounds better).

Here's the official write-up:

"Return to the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants . . . ten years later

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Ann Brashares comes the welcome return of the characters whose friendship became a touchstone for a generation. Now Tibby, Lena, Carmen, and Bridget have grown up, starting their lives on their own. And though the jeans they shared are long gone, the sisterhood is everlasting.

Despite having jobs and men that they love, each knows that something is missing: the closeness that once sustained them. Carmen is a successful actress in New York, engaged to be married, but misses her friends. Lena finds solace in her art, teaching in Rhode Island, but still thinks of Kostos and the road she didn’t take. Bridget lives with her longtime boyfriend, Eric, in San Francisco, and though a part of her wants to settle down, a bigger part can’t seem to shed her old restlessness.

Then Tibby reaches out to bridge the distance, sending the others plane tickets for a reunion that they all breathlessly await. And indeed, it will change their lives forever—but in ways that none of them could ever have expected.
As moving and life-changing as an encounter with long-lost best friends, Sisterhood Everlasting is a powerful story about growing up, losing your way, and finding the courage to create a new one."

(2) Then Came You~ the latest from Jennifer Weiner is coming out July 12th.  Yep, totally on pre-order too.

(3) I have just discovered that Helen Fielding, author of Bridget Jones, tweets as Bridget Jones!  Love it!  If we can't get a new Bridget book, it's nice to read about some Bridget antics via twitter.  @bridgetjoneshf

There are also people who tweet as Mark Darcy: @markdarcylegal , and Daniel Cleaver: @danielcleaverxx

(4) I cannot wait for the movie version of The Help.  It comes out August 12th and though I haven't pre-ordered my movie ticket, I plan on seeing it as soon as possible.

If you still have not read The Help by Kathryn Stockett, do so immediately.

If you haven't seen the preview yet, here it is.  I get so verklempted ever single time I see it!

Swiss Oatmeal {Copy Cat Recipe}

I'm obsessed with Swiss Oatmeal.  I particularly love   Corner Bakery's Swiss Oatmeal.  If you are not familiar with Swiss Oatmeal, it is a cold oatmeal cereal with fruit and nuts. I've had a similar recipe for years, but it was only similar.  It wasn't close enough for my liking.  So I finally set out into the land of Pinterest to find a recipe that was a good Copy Cat.  I found a few, combined them and came up with what I think is a very close Copy Cat Recipe of Corner Bakery's Swiss Oatmeal. Here's what I do (note, this recipe is really just pictures, because I don't really have measurements for these things.  The photos aren't great, but it's easier if I show you what I do)... Here's the Phase 1 ingredients...   Milk Honey Yogurt (I use a vanilla greek yogurt) Oats (old fashioned, not quick...you probably could do steel cut too)    I've simplified this to where you only need a bowl and a spoon for Phase 1 becau...
