{Confessions of a Product Junkie}... Skincare 2017 Edition

I'm no Skincare expert, but I do like to buy beauty products.  It's been a LONG time since I have blogged about my favorites.  Some may be the same, some have changed.  Here is what I'm loving right now...

I'm still using some of the Renee Rouleau products.  Over the past couple of years, I have used many of these products, but I'm down to two.  They repackaged last year, and along with looking different, you get less product for the same (or maybe even more?) money.  Which is a bummer, but the products are good.  They don't upset my face (I recently tried to go cheap with a Neutrogena set of cleanser and toner, and my face freaked out!)

For a cleanser, I use the RR AHA/BHA Blemish Control with Salicylic Acid Face Wash.  That cheaper brand I bought a few weeks ago had all of those same ingredients, but my face is just too sensitive for that formula.  I've never had any trouble with RR, so back to the old faithful I went. (Note: I do use store brand face wipe makeup removers first to get all my makeup off before using this face wash).

The RR Toner I use is called Balancing Skin Tonic.  My new shipment is suppose to be "new and improved", but the biggie here is no alcohol.

I use the Toning Cloths too.  They are spendy, but I cut each one in half, so you get more bang for the buck.  I also really think this helps your toner last much longer than if you used a cotton ball or cotton pad.

I started using this Teddie Organics Organic Rosehip Oil back in early July after it finally came back in stock.  I had been reading about it everywhere, and thought I'd give it a try.  I have to say, I LOVE it.  I think Amazon is the only place you can buy it.

I've been using this it Cosmetics moisturizer since the spring.  I really like it too.  It's called Confidence in a Cream.

I ordered their eye cream last week as well.  It came in and I've only used it a couple of days, but I'm pretty sure I'm in love.  Bye Bye Under Eye claims it "smooths, brightens, and depuffs" and by golly I think it does!

Every night I also moisturize my lips.  This Rosebud Strawberry Lip Balm is my favorite.  I've used it for years, and I always request one from Santa since it makes a great stocking stuffer!

Do you need to de-gunk your pores?  This Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment is the best I've ever tried.  I wish it wasn't because it isn't cheap, but dang.... it pulls the junk right out.  I've tried several cheaper versions, but they just don't measure up.

Here's one I'll get back to you on:  I have been using the RR Triple Berry Peel for about a year.  I started to order some more, but when I went to order it, it is $86.40 for 1.7 ounces.  $86!!!  Now I love it, but not that much.  I've actually been trying to figure out if it went up a ton in the past year, or if I really just lost my mind one day and bought it at that price?  Good grief!  Anyway, I'm thinking about trying this Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask.  It's much cheaper and you get 5 ounces.  I need to buy it and report back, but if you are in the need for something similar I thought I would go ahead and share it.

So those are the products I'm using right now.  This isn't a sponsored post.  These are just things I'm loving and spending way to much money on!

Swiss Oatmeal {Copy Cat Recipe}

I'm obsessed with Swiss Oatmeal.  I particularly love   Corner Bakery's Swiss Oatmeal.  If you are not familiar with Swiss Oatmeal, it is a cold oatmeal cereal with fruit and nuts. I've had a similar recipe for years, but it was only similar.  It wasn't close enough for my liking.  So I finally set out into the land of Pinterest to find a recipe that was a good Copy Cat.  I found a few, combined them and came up with what I think is a very close Copy Cat Recipe of Corner Bakery's Swiss Oatmeal. Here's what I do (note, this recipe is really just pictures, because I don't really have measurements for these things.  The photos aren't great, but it's easier if I show you what I do)... Here's the Phase 1 ingredients...   Milk Honey Yogurt (I use a vanilla greek yogurt) Oats (old fashioned, not quick...you probably could do steel cut too)    I've simplified this to where you only need a bowl and a spoon for Phase 1 becau

Europe 2023 {Day 9 ~ Munich & Bavarian Alps}

 On Tuesday, December 20th I grabbed breakfast at the hotel and then walked about 15 minutes to where I met my tour for the day.  On my first visit to Munich, I only had time for one "day trip" outside of the city and I chose to go to Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial, but I always knew I wanted to venture down to the Bavarian Alps and see some castles on my next visit.  I had booked the premium tour and it was so fancy.  There was a snack bar and they even served beer and wine on the way home after the last stop of the day.  First stop was at Linderhof Castle. This was a "small" castle of King Ludwig's that was a partial mini-replica of Versailles.  It was a snowy walk to the castle... Interior photos were not allowed, but you can see some pics of the interior HERE Like Versailles, there are fountains and sculptures surrounding Linderhof, but they cover the statues with wood huts to protect them from the winter elements. After visiting Linderhof, we made a (to

It's all about the dress...

I mean I guess it's really all about getting married, but come on, you always anticipate the dress right?  Well holy moly folks!  Today a big secret was released to the press.  No, we still don't know which dress or tiara Kate will be wearing, but we heard for the first time that Princess Diana had a back-up dress!  Here are some of the pictures and sketches... Real dress on Left~ Back-up on the Right Here are the sketches of the back-up dress And you know what?  I like the back-up dress better than the one she wore!  I know, I know.  I'm going to get blasted for saying that, but I'll just confess it right now... My name is Kara and I've never thought Princess Diana's dress was all that and a bag of chips.  Nope.  Not my favorite Royal Wedding Dress by any stretch of the imagination.  What is my favorite?  Probably the one that Sarah Ferguson wore when she married Andrew... It had beautiful beading and stitching throughout.  Also on the train it had an &quo
