{2014 in Review}

Lots of Lola love and kisses;   A new state, a new country, and over 18,000 miles traveled;   It was a great year!   {all in a 15 second video}

Happy Christmas {2014 Card}

Christmas Decorations {2014 Version}

Here are some pics I took of my Christmas decorations.  Not many changes since last year.  I did trash my bedroom tree, and ended up moving the dining room tree into my bedroom, and buying a new 9 foot skinny tree for the dining room. Living Room Tree {day} I had purchased those green candle holders last year on post-Christmas clearance and was so happy to find little poinsettias to fit in them! {night view} Dining Room {Travel Tree} As I said, I upgraded this to a 9 ft tree and like it much better.  I also added a frosted globe light for some extra glow.  And of course, I used my travels to add new ornaments and new flag to the topper. These are some of the new ornaments on the travel tree... Top Row: Lace from Belgium, Crown from The Tower of London, Downton Abbey from Highclere Castle; Middle Row: Harrods Union Jack, Buckingham Palace, Aloha sand ornament from Hawaii; Bottom Row: Pearl Harbor, Hula Girl from Hawaii, Pineapple from Dol

ICE 2014 {Frosty the Snowman}

My friend Abby, and her ever-growing brood, always stop by on the way to her family's Christmas.  For the 3rd time, we enjoyed the Gaylord Texas ICE exhibit this year.  The theme was Frosty the Snowman, and I thought it was really cute (better than The Nutcracker, not as good as Peanuts, because who can top snoopy?) Abby and I went with her two older kiddos, while her husband Brian waited out in the warmth with the babies. The ice slides are always fun This year, they had a section called the "frostbite factory" where they showed you details about how they turn this 2 million pounds of ice into a display.  Complete with carving demonstrations The end of the exhibit is always a big nativity scene.  This year they added a big angel to the mix... Outside of the exhibit they had a picture made of legos, and a tree decorated with lego ornaments.  Brooks came up with some ideas for a lego tree next year.
