{Confessions of a Product Junkie}...Fall 2015 Makeup Edition

So it's that time of year.  The time when I head to Neimans with good intentions of buying an item or two, and leave with my Neiman's card smoking instead.  I can't seem to help myself.  I like to refresh a couple of times a year.  I like to change it up. My first stop was at the Tom Ford counter.  Tom Ford is the God of Lipstick.  It's stupid expensive, and worth every single penny (in my opinion).  I can buy one tube and it lasts the entire season.  For fall, I purchased one of the new colors called "So Vain". They recommended a gloss to go over it called "Love Bruise".  Now as is often the case, I've been there and done that, but I was almost out of it.  I actually produced the tube of lip gloss I purchased in the spring, but had worn like a total of 3 times, so they just exchanged it with a new tube of Love Bruise.   (I love the TF gloss, but not over their Matte Lipsticks.  My spring/summer color was a Matte...Be for...

Pinch me, I have to be dreaming...

Pinch me, I have to be dreaming... is my beloved Gilmore Girls really being revived on Netflix for 4- 90 minute "movies"?  I can hardly think of anything that would have made me happier this week {well short of winning the lotto, world peace, etc.}! They really got our hopes up earlier this year when Scott Patterson was on a podcast called Gilmore Guys, and hinted that everyone was on board with shooting new episodes.  Then when the cast reunited at ATX festival down in Austin this summer, they also hinted at this, though Amy Sherman-Palladino said "nothing was in the works, but the good news is everyone gets along so it was possible" (kinda paraphrasing her here). When Variety hit with the news on Monday, I was skeptical, but then the non-confirmation-confirmations started rolling in, and I was on cloud 9. and even our former Secretary of State weighed in... So here is what I feel like I HAVE to see in the new episodes: (1) Luke & ...

A Solo-Birthday Outing

On Saturday, I had a little solo-pre-birthday outing.  My actual b-day this week kinda sucks... it's my BIG day of teaching, so I'm not done until like 9:45 p.m.  No time to celebrate.  So I took it upon myself to sign up for a couple of spa treatments at Neiman Marcus curtesy of Spa Week and their $50 treatments. I made a big plan:  Get to the mall about 9:30.  Get a close parking place since it's 30 minutes before the stores open.  Enjoy a quiet breakfast at Corner Bakery.  Shop a little as soon as the stores open and everything gets crowded.  Hit the Spa at 11:00. Well, things started out a little shaky.  I absentmindedly set off my house alarm as I was trying to set it to leave.  I thought I cancelled it out, and even waited about a minute to make sure the alarm company wasn't going to call.  They didn't, and so I left.  When I got about a mile away from the house, I noticed they had called my cell, which I hadn't heard...

Fall at the Arboretum

It's October 13, and I've checked 3 items off of my October "To-Do" list!  I've gone to Canton Trade Days, gone to The State Fair, and yesterday, I checked the arboretum off of my list.  I love the Dallas Arboretum.  In the spring, there are tons of tulips, and in the fall, it's tons of pumpkins. Right as you enter, the walkway is lined with giant pumpkins.   Man, I wish I had just one of those big pumpkins for my yard! Since Josh was out of school, we decided to take the kids to the Arboretum. The Pumpkin Village is always fun. They were handing out sheets with pictures of all the pumpkin and gourd varieties.  I thought Josh would like looking for the different kinds, but I got two sheets so Harper wouldn't feel left out.  Turns out, Harper was all about it!  She was on a mission and you couldn't deter her! See what I mean? We got there as soon as they opened at 9:00 a.m.  Primarily because it was going to be such a...
