I haven't had time to blog about my last day in Budapest.  I have been busy trying to finish a Shutterfly book of the trip before a coupon expired this week.  So stay tuned for that. Until then, I'm sharing my holiday card.  Due to my travels in December, I decided to do a New Year Card instead of a Christmas card.  I normally have a lady on etsy who works with me to custom design a card, and well, she kinda flaked at the last minute.  So in an effort to "just be done with it", which is so NOT me when it comes to Christmas cards, I ordered from Shutterfly.  Despite being less than please with the path I had to take, I thought they turned out ok.  I did a letter to go with them and found some paper with gold foil polka dots around the edge to coordinate with the cards....

On Saturday, December 19th, I had a 8:52 train from Vienna to Budapest, Hungary.  I got to the train station in time to grab an Egg McMuffin at McDonalds.  I was feeling more confident about the whole train situation.  First, even though I don't know German, it's easier to read and decipher than Czech since English is a Germanic language.  Second, I had done this the day before.  I knew how long I had to get on the train, what to expect, where my luggage went on the train, etc. I found my train number, and a worker at the station who verified for me that I was looking at the correct train and platform number.  I got him to help me pull up the train "map" so that I could see where the first class car was located on the train.  I found the platform and was feeling pretty good about it, until the train destination was listed as "Beograd".  I knew that the cities are often not listed in English...
