Decorated!

Well, I'm finally done decorating. I didn't quite put out everything this year, but it is as good as it is going to get! I had hoped to finish earlier in the week, but despite Jennifer and I wanting the firm to be in "December mode" (ie: not doing a whole lot of work and doing lots of shopping and decorating), things haven't worked out that way. No complaints though...new clients are always welcome!

Here are the final decorating photos that I will subject you to!

Below is the entry table (not real exciting, but I took the photo for some reason).
Here is my "Winter Wonderland" tree that is in my bedroom.
I was trying to remember when I purchased this Christmas tree and can't quite remember. I know it either originated in Wichita Falls or Lubbock, but either way, I think this is its final showing. It is pretty craptastic (some of the limbs aren't even connected anymore...in the back of course)! I will be closely watching Garden Ridge again this year for the 75% off sale.

Below is the little village I have set up in my bedroom.

I also tackled the outdoor lights today.
Here are a couple of photos of the front door decorations.
A closer view so that you can see the jingle bell lights around the door. It's darn near impossible to get a good photo of the outside of my house. You can't get the whole thing in a photo because of the trees! Just imagine if you could see the whole house, there is also a lit wreath between the garage doors.
Predictably, when I got all the lights out for the bushes, half of the strings didn't work! I bought a bunch of white lights on sale last year after Christmas, but didn't have any extra red ones (and wouldn't you know it was mainly the red ones that didn't work!). I made a mad dash to Wal-Mart (looking pretty scary I might add...though I kept telling myself it was only Wal-Mart!) and bought some red lights. When I started decorating, one of the strings I purchased didn't work and then I bought one too few, so I'll be going back tomorrow so that I can finish decorating the end of the bushes!

Europe 2024 {Day 10 ~ Munich, Germany}

On December 22nd, I departed Salzburg train station at 8:00 and arrived in Munich at 9:40.  The station is under construction and a real mess!  I finally made my way out and found it was really raining.  I made my way to a taxi and took it to my hotel.  My hotel room wasn't ready but they kept my bags for me and I headed out.   I have been to Munich a couple of times and wanted to see a couple of things I haven't had a chance to do before.  I planned to to go to the Nazi Documentation Center first since it was raining, but when I looked it up on my phone to double check the hours, I learned they had just closed for renovations.  So rain or not, I was going to have to head out to Nymphemburg Palace.  I took the tram out and then walked to the palace. I don't know why, but I didn't take many pictures on the inside. I also bought a ticket to the Royal Stables Museum which houses lots of coaches. I really found all the sleighs to be a sight to see, bu...
