Come On!

I liked playing with my Strawberry Shortcake dolls when I was little. I was even happy to see S.S. make a comeback a couple of years ago.



It really goes without saying that I LOVE Carrie Bradshaw and all the gals from Sex and the City.



Now you may be saying to yourself "Where in the heck is she going with this story?" and I don't blame you, because in my mind Strawberry Shortcake and Carrie Bradshaw have no similarities or common threads! Never have been, never will be... but, the people at Dollar Tree have other ideas:



Exhibit 1: A Puzzle they are selling at Dollar Tree. This leads me to say "COME ON!" What in the Hell is going on in those production meetings? Who thought that it was a good idea to make a knock off Sex and the City puzzle for children? Maybe the kids wouldn't even know that it is a knock off of SATC, but seriously, aren't they tarting kids up enough these days?!

Well put. They are totally tarting up little girls way to early. You probably haven't watched the strawberry short cake cartoon of late, but lets say, she looks a lot more bratz than strawberry shortcake of yester year!!

Swiss Oatmeal {Copy Cat Recipe}

I'm obsessed with Swiss Oatmeal.  I particularly love   Corner Bakery's Swiss Oatmeal.  If you are not familiar with Swiss Oatmeal, it is a cold oatmeal cereal with fruit and nuts. I've had a similar recipe for years, but it was only similar.  It wasn't close enough for my liking.  So I finally set out into the land of Pinterest to find a recipe that was a good Copy Cat.  I found a few, combined them and came up with what I think is a very close Copy Cat Recipe of Corner Bakery's Swiss Oatmeal. Here's what I do (note, this recipe is really just pictures, because I don't really have measurements for these things.  The photos aren't great, but it's easier if I show you what I do)... A Blogiversary Giveaway!
