Your eyes will thank you

If you live in, or are planning to visit, the DFW area, you should take the time to visit the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth. They are currently hosting "The Age of Impressionism: Great French Paintings from the Clark". Though it isn't only French works, they all come on loan from the Sterling & Francine Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, Massachusetts. I've gone to many similar exhibits in the past and often they are a bit of a let down, but with 72 paintings including 21 Renoirs, 6 Monets, 7 by Pissarro, rounded out by several by Manet, Degas & Sisley, this is anything BUT a let down. I went last Tuesday (half price day by the way) with Jennifer and Lisa. We all had our differing favorites. This was mine....

"Onions" by Renoir. I know, I know. Onions. A weird favorite, right? But it was a gorgeous painting. The skin on the onions glistened with a translucent quality. It really made you contemplate the beauty of onions, which I had honestly never thought about for even a second. Some other ones I loved were by Monet... "Geese"
And, "Field of Tulips in Sassenheim near Haarlem"...

After we were done at the museum, we made a stop by Blue Bonnet Bakery to buy some treats for later, and then headed to Lonesome Dove Bistro down in the stockyards for lunch. This was an outing for Lisa's birthday, so we wanted to go somewhere special.  None of us had ever been for lunch before, and were so happy to find out that the lunch menu is just as wonderful as the dinner menu.  If you haven't been to Lonesome Dove, you should go there too!  It was a great outing over to Cowtown, and I wild highly recommend a trip to the Kimbell for everyone.

Swiss Oatmeal {Copy Cat Recipe}

I'm obsessed with Swiss Oatmeal.  I particularly love   Corner Bakery's Swiss Oatmeal.  If you are not familiar with Swiss Oatmeal, it is a cold oatmeal cereal with fruit and nuts. I've had a similar recipe for years, but it was only similar.  It wasn't close enough for my liking.  So I finally set out into the land of Pinterest to find a recipe that was a good Copy Cat.  I found a few, combined them and came up with what I think is a very close Copy Cat Recipe of Corner Bakery's Swiss Oatmeal. Here's what I do (note, this recipe is really just pictures, because I don't really have measurements for these things.  The photos aren't great, but it's easier if I show you what I do)... Here's the Phase 1 ingredients...   Milk Honey Yogurt (I use a vanilla greek yogurt) Oats (old fashioned, not quick...you probably could do steel cut too)    I've simplified this to where you only need a bowl and a spoon for Phase 1 becau
