I have been struck by the plague again.  I'm not sure what it really is, but that's what I'm calling it, the plague.  It started out with a sore throat, then a cough, then I lost my voice.  I'm just sick of feeling bad!  Anyway, that's the current running excuse for my blogging absence.

Luckily, there is nothing I have to do this weekend, so I probably will spend a bunch of time on the couch watching movies.  I'm not sure what I will watch.  There is more at the actual movies that I want to see than on my apple tv, but I'm sure I will manage somehow.

In addition to needing to get to the theatre to see Lincoln, there are actually a couple of documentaries coming out that I really want to see.  I just love documentaries!  I know, they aren't mainstream, but I enjoy them so much.

Here are a couple that I've been waiting to be released...

"Koch" looks great, if you are a nerdy political junkie like me.  Sadly, Mayor Ed Koch died today.  I've always thought he was such a lively political character.  I say always because, like many children of the 1980's, I was first introduced to Mayor Koch in, "The Muppets Take Manhattan."  I later enjoyed him in other movie and television appearances including "Sex and the City".

On a completely different note, Dave Grohl has directed a documentary, "Sound City", that I really want to see.  I premiered at Sundance and I can't wait to see it (it has an awesome soundtrack too!)...

So that's all I've got!   Hope you have a good weekend! *update: just discovered "Sound City" is available on Apple TV already!

Swiss Oatmeal {Copy Cat Recipe}

I'm obsessed with Swiss Oatmeal.  I particularly love   Corner Bakery's Swiss Oatmeal.  If you are not familiar with Swiss Oatmeal, it is a cold oatmeal cereal with fruit and nuts. I've had a similar recipe for years, but it was only similar.  It wasn't close enough for my liking.  So I finally set out into the land of Pinterest to find a recipe that was a good Copy Cat.  I found a few, combined them and came up with what I think is a very close Copy Cat Recipe of Corner Bakery's Swiss Oatmeal. Here's what I do (note, this recipe is really just pictures, because I don't really have measurements for these things.  The photos aren't great, but it's easier if I show you what I do)... Here's the Phase 1 ingredients...   Milk Honey Yogurt (I use a vanilla greek yogurt) Oats (old fashioned, not quick...you probably could do steel cut too)    I've simplified this to where you only need a bowl and a spoon for Phase 1 becau...
