New Glasses from Warby Parker

I heard about Warby Parker a couple of years ago from the source where I have found out about so much information and "favorite things" over the years...Ms. Oprah Winfrey.  Oprah is a big fan of Warby Parker eyeglasses.

I went to the eye doctor a couple of weeks ago and decided that I wanted some new glasses, so Warby Parker was my go-to place.  I was very excited to see that they had a store in Dallas.  They don't have stores in a ton of locations, but if they don't have one in your area, they have a neat little mail order program where you can pick out 5 frames, and they mail them to you to try.

The process of selecting frames was very quick for me.  I was probably in and out in about 15 minutes.  It was primarily because I loved almost every pair I tried.  It kind of made me wish I didn't wear contact lenses because I would have totally bought 4 pair!  Since I only wear glasses a couple of hours a day, I had to select just one. {they have an awesome sunglass selection too}

This was the one I decided to get.  I love the grey frame.

These were the runner-ups in my selection...

Loved the violet that runs through this frame.

This was just tons of fun.  Totally funky...

This was very different than the others, but a cute option too...

Besides having amazing frames to choose from, there is so much else to love about Warby Parker.  First, most glasses are $95.  That's for the frames and lenses.  Some frames (if they have metal) increase a bit in price, and some prescriptions will cost $30 more.  That's still a pretty good deal!  Second, they are a company with a conscious, and I love that.  Similar to Tom's, when you buy a pair of glasses, they give a pair of glasses to someone in need.

Even if you live near a store, you order your glasses and have them mailed to you.  They claimed it would take 7-14 business days to receive them, but I ordered mine on a Friday, and received them in the mail the next Thursday.

I love my new Warby Parkers!

{this is in no way a paid advertisement, I just love to share what I love}

I've been getting my glasses from Warby Parker for a few years now and have loved all of them. I wish there was a store near Seattle, but the home-try-on is great so it all works out.

Swiss Oatmeal {Copy Cat Recipe}

I'm obsessed with Swiss Oatmeal.  I particularly love   Corner Bakery's Swiss Oatmeal.  If you are not familiar with Swiss Oatmeal, it is a cold oatmeal cereal with fruit and nuts. I've had a similar recipe for years, but it was only similar.  It wasn't close enough for my liking.  So I finally set out into the land of Pinterest to find a recipe that was a good Copy Cat.  I found a few, combined them and came up with what I think is a very close Copy Cat Recipe of Corner Bakery's Swiss Oatmeal. Here's what I do (note, this recipe is really just pictures, because I don't really have measurements for these things.  The photos aren't great, but it's easier if I show you what I do)... Here's the Phase 1 ingredients...   Milk Honey Yogurt (I use a vanilla greek yogurt) Oats (old fashioned, not quick...you probably could do steel cut too)    I've simplified this to where you only need a bowl and a spoon for Phase 1 becau
