As I've said before, I love October. It's a time of decorating, fall leaves, crisper air (hopefully), football, and lots of other activities. I'm so excited that it's almost here. I have been busy planning lots of activities for October, so I made a list...
(1) Canton Trade Days: I love going to Canton. You can buy just about anything you want there. I try to go at least twice a year...once in the fall and once in the spring. I'm not looking for anything specific, but i'm just loading up my shopping card and heading to East Texas.
(2) State Fair of Texas: CORNY DOGS (obviously) are the highlight of this upcoming trip. The petting zoo is also high on my State Fair list of activities I love.
(3) Autumn at the Arboretum: Jennifer's 2nd grader has a week off in October for fall break. He asked her what activities she had planned. For the most part, we have a full calendar of court planned, but somehow, I don't think that was what he was thinking of. We managed to find one day where we can take her munchkins to the Dallas Arboretum. I think the kids are going to love it (they've never been before), and I always do too.
(4) Spa Day: On a Saturday near my birthday, I have a spa day booked down at Neiman Marcus. There is an event called Spa Week. Different spas around the country participate for one week (kind of like restaurant week). Each participating spa lists 3 services that they discount to $50 a treatment. They only allow so many of the discounted appointments, so I was lucky when I got a back to back appointment for a 60 minute massage and a 60 minute facial. I plan to get to the mall early, have a breakfast I love at Corner Bakery (Swiss Oatmeal), and then enjoy my spa day. Happy B-day to me!
(5) Birthdays: October is kind of birthday month! Lots and lots of birthday. Family, Friends, and Me!
(6) Take Lola's Halloween Pics: I got Lola another great Halloween Costume, so after she is groomed in a couple of weeks, we will do a little photo shoot in her costume. {Don't tell her about this or she will run away...she has already tried on her costume, and she is not amused... it has a wig!}
(7) Scare on the Square: I'm excited because I love tagging along with my friends who have kids to Scare on the Square. It is usually on Halloween, which is often too difficult to manage with actual trick-or-treating and such, but this year since Halloween is on Saturday night, Scare on the Square is on Friday, and thus, totally doable! Hooray!
