Day Two of London was one of the greatest days ever. I still feel like it was a dream. I got to go to Wimbledon!!!
I slept in a bit and then I headed out and took the underground a few stops west to the Southfields station, and from the station I walked up Wimbledon Park Road to the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. I had purchased my ticket on StubHub, and an actual ticket is required for entry, so I had been told to pick up my ticket at an address located between Southfields and the AELTC. When I googled the address, it was a house. This seemed a little flaky, and I was a bit nervous that I wouldn't really end up having a ticket. But as I got closer to AELTC, I noticed that many of the homes had leased out their driveways for various things. When I got to the address I was looking for, there was an actual StubHub tent out front, complete with a security guard, and employees handing out the tickets. Also, I had been guaranteed a ticket in one of the 200 sections, but not been given a specific section or seat, so it was all a bit of a mystery.

Pimm's is one of my favorite drinks ever, so it's just perfect that Wimbledon is practically swimming in it.
I got there pretty early, and it was nice to walk around without huge crowds. Here is Aorangi Terrace, or Henman Hill/Murray Mount as it is more commonly known, where folks with ground tickets only can gather and watch Centre Court matches on the big screen...
The flowers all over the AELTC were just beautiful, and there were matches you could watch that didn't require a specific seat ticket like Junior's, Wheelchair tennis, etc. There was a match going on here...
Flowers everywhere in Wimbledon colors
Junior's Tennis...
I made a quick run through the museum. I asked them if anything had changed in the past 22 years since my last visit, and the girls who were likely not even that old, got a good chuckle out of that.
1992, My favorite men's final of all time...
The first match on centre court started at 1:00, so I grabbed a Pimm's...
and since the Strawberries and Cream line was short, I decided it would be a great time for some...
My ticket was a Debenture ticket, which meant I could go to private fancy places. I went to look around, but decided I liked the idea of having a sandwich down in the food court as opposed to steak and lobster in the fancy restaurants...
So I went in to get my seat, and I couldn't believe my good fortune!
The only seat better in the whole place was in the Royal Box. Which was right across from me. And only a better seat because they look a little more comfy, not because the view is better! Even as a type this, I'm still in disbelief.
There were no actual royals in the box (I believe God knew I could only handle so much on that day, and that my friends, might have just sent me over the edge), but there was tennis royalty.
Front row, lady in purple is Billie Jean King. And the second row, just to the left of the aisle (guy with white hair behind the bald guy), is Björn Borg.
Kerber and Ostapenko were first up. Here's the match point.
Before Serena was up, I went for another Pimm's
and a Centre Court selfie
Here they come... Goerges and Williams
The Family box is just above the scoreboard. Serena's husband, Alexis Ohanian, is front row there, 5th from right (with his glasses tucked in his collar), and her coach Patrick Mouratoglou, is second from right.
Match point...
An updated board...
Next up was a Mixed Doubles Quarterfinal...
I walked around for a while longer and purchased some things in the gift shop. I FaceTimed my Mom and showed her all the pretty flower, and checked in on my pup (perfectly normal to FaceTime you pup from Wimbledon)
I went back to the hotel and debated whether to go to the corner pub for dinner or go have fish & chips. Fish & Chips won, so off to Kerbisher & Malt on Shephard's Bush Rd. I went...
Cod & Chips to finish off the day...
That's a wrap on one of my best days ever. As I've said, I still feel like it was a dream!
